A clampdown on short-term lets and sites such as Airbnb is looming in Edinburgh after the city council admitted that residents were being adversely affected by a boom in tourism.London, New York and Berlin have already introduced strict restrictions on short-term lets. An Edinburgh team will work across five council departments, including environmental health, planning and community safety, implementing solutions to problems such as noise and rubbish.
